Pool volunteers are needed again this summer.
The Pool Committee is asking for volunteers to help keep the pool area looking good. Volunteers periodically straighten the chairs, set out the trash on Thursday, check and lightly clean the restrooms, etc. This successful program promotes community involvement, saves money and keeps the pool looking good.
Please contact: Dave Hooten (826-1197) to select your week.
Pool Water Temperature: The pool contractor has informed us that the State Board of Health recommends that heated pool temperatures be set no higher than 82 degrees due to possible health concerns.
Also as stated in the Residents Manual, the pool is for the exclusive use of the Villas at Winding Ridge residents and their guests. A key is required to enter the pool area and the restrooms. Any person who cannot be Identified as a resident or who is not accompanied by a resident, will be asked to leave the pool area.
The pool rules are:
1. All persons using the pool and pool facilities do so at their own risk and sole responsibility. There is no life guard.
2. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult resident age 18 or older.
3. Guests are limited to four (4) per household, and must be accompanied by a resident at all times.

AMI Indianapolis assumed the role of property management for the Villas at Winding Ridge on Aug. 1, 2009. Residents received a letter recently which details the transition. Enclosed in the mailing was a form AMI Indianapolis asks each resident to complete and return so they can begin with accurate files for all of us. Download the letter and form.
The Board of Managers for the Villas at Winding Ridge HOA made the selection of AMI Indianapolis after many interviews with companies seeking to service our neighborhood and quality checks at properties currently managed by AMI.

A recent lightning strike created a power surge. That surge took out a freezer and refrigerator for one of our residents. A call was made to Lawrence Street Dept for a heavy pick up. Lawrence does not pick up in the Villas.
Tom Mock, Landscape Committee Chair, made some calls and provides the following information:
For pick up of Freon type items, call the company, Genesis at 1-800-487-1010. A fee will be charged
To help all residents understand the complexities of snow plowing these guidelines are published during winter months.
1. The Board of Managers will see that these snow guidelines are published in "The Villa Voice" each month during the winter.
2. When snow is forecast, all unit owners should park any vehicles in garages. Vehicles parked in turnarounds prohibit snow from being pushed to an out-of-the-way place and may be locked in indefinitely by banks of snow. Also, for unit owners having patio fences, the gate should be left open (not just unlocked) if snow removal up to the front door is desired- - the contractor is directed not to open gates to remove snow.
3. If heavy overnight snowfall is predicted, the contractor will attempt to gather his crew together for a start time of 6:00 AM providing a snow is a depth of two (2) inches or greater on the ground, (sometimes this may prove to be difficult, in that the contractor has to remove snow from the rural roads leading to his business to get his workers to work). For lighter snows (which is norm), snow removal will begin at snows end or as directed by the Villas property manager.
4. Snow will be removed from Winding Wood Drive, Winding Wood Court and drives first by heavy equipment.
5. Snow will be removed behind garage doors and walkways by snow blowers and shovelers after the heavy equipment operators have done their job.
Snow will not be removed from driveways when vehicles are parked in the drive. “Will they plow your driveway if your neighbor has their car in their driveway?” Horning stated on their proposal that “If a car is parked in a driveway, we will not clean that double driveway.” Thus, the answer is yes, they will NOT plow your driveway if your neighbor has a car in their driveway.
The vehicle owner will be responsible for removal of snow.
6. Contractor workers should not take directions from individual unit owners requests. All request/directions should come from the property manager. If you have emergency requests, they should be directed through the Property Manager.
7. Weather conditions throughout the day(s) may dictate that steps 4 and 5 may need repeating.
